Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ForSaleCards is a free tool that helps you create shareable selling cards for second-hand items. We are not a marketplace and do not handle payments or transactions between buyers and sellers.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

  • Photos you upload— uploaded to our hosted file storage (Supabase) so they can be rendered into your card and served from the card's share link. Stored until you (or we) delete the listing.
  • Item details — name, price, description, condition, location — saved to our database alongside your card so the share link continues to work. Stored until the listing is deleted.
  • Contact information — WhatsApp number or email address you choose to display on your card. Saved with the listing (so it appears on the public card page) and also cached locally in your browser so we can pre-fill it on your next visit.
  • Analytics — anonymised page-view data (no personal identifiers) collected only after you accept cookies.

3. How we use your data

  • To generate your selling card image and host its share link.
  • To let you (or anyone with the link) view the listing on its public page.
  • To pre-fill your contact details on future visits (cached in your browser).
  • To understand how the product is used, so we can improve it (analytics only, with consent).

4. Cookies

We use a single consent cookie (app_cookie_consent) to remember your cookie preferences. We only set analytics cookies after you accept. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with third parties except:

  • Analytics providers (e.g. Plausible or PostHog) — only aggregated, anonymised data, and only after you consent.
  • Partner service providers — only if you explicitly submit a lead form for cleaning, storage, or moving services.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are based in the EU or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. You can clear locally cached data (contact details, preferences) at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage and cookies.

To delete listings and photos stored on our servers, sign in and remove them from your saved listings, or email us with the share link of the card you want removed. Contact us at hello@forsalecards.app.

7. Data retention

Photos, item details, and the generated card image are stored on our servers so the card's share link continues to work. Data is retained until you (or we) delete the listing. We do not currently apply an automatic expiry, but we may remove inactive or orphaned listings periodically. To request deletion of a specific listing, see “Your rights” above.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the site.
